On Your Bikes!
Community cycling
Mayor Alistair Sowman and his fellow cycling councillors will lead the way out of Seymour Square on Sunday 26 February for the annual mayoral community bike ride.
This year the route will follow the Taylor River cycleway up to Rifle Range Place at the foot of the Wither walkway for a family-friendly gathering with prizes, BBQ and cycling skills activities for the children.
Meet at Seymour Square from 9.00 am to head out by 9.30 am. It’s not a race – just a chance to enjoy cycling with friends or family on a Sunday morning. Join in the ride along the Taylor River walkway if you’re late!
Remember that the Taylor River Trail is a shared-use facility. Not only cyclists but walkers, runners, dog owners and their animals are out and about on a Sunday morning but everyone is sure to see the cycling crowd coming and there is plenty of room for everyone.
