World renowned multi-sport competition, Speight’s Coast to Coast, celebrates its 30th anniversary this month and for the third consecutive year, New Zealand premium Merino label, Icebreaker is principal clothing sponsor - keeping athletes covered no matter what the conditions.

Icebreaker is thrilled to support both local and international competitors as they race across New Zealand’s South Island in one of the world’s top sporting events, pushing both physical and mental abilities to the limit.

Whether competitors are set to conquer Goat Pass or cycle the roads of Christchurch, Icebreaker’s range of technical sport garments have been created with the athlete in mind with technical features like the highly breathable eyelet fabric and back-stash pockets. It’s no wonder Icebreaker is trusted among high performance sports athletes to give them the competitive edge.

In addition to being the principal clothing sponsor for the event, Icebreaker has submitted a team of 16 athletes to compete this year, including podium hopeful Simone Maier who placed third at the 2011 Ironman World Championships in Hawaii.

“Competing in Coast to Coast is the ultimate challenge for multi-sport competitors and by wearing Icebreaker I know that I’ll be comfortable in any weather condition as the garments have amazing breathability. And best of all by the time I finish I’ll smell as fresh as when I started!”says Simone.

While Coast to Coast competitors are given an Icebreaker SS Quest Zip to keep them covered as they traverse the country facing unpredictable elements, limited edition Icebreaker Tech T Lite’s (RRP $90.00) will be available for supporters to purchase at the event with the Women’s Tech T available in a cosmic blue and the men’s, a field green.

Icebreaker will have sites set up at Kumara, Klondyke Corner, North Hagley Park and Sumner where the souvenir tops can be purchased. Prize draws can also be entered where you can win Icebreaker gear and have photos with the legendary Icebreaker Ramotaur. There’ll also be a sausage sizzle available for hungry supporters.
