Kick off the racing season with a BANG!
On Saturday 5th November, over 40 teams will take part in the inaugural Big Bang 6hr Adventure Race based in the Kapiti region. Competitors in teams of two or four will mountain bike, hike, tube and navigate their way through this top secret course.
This new event is quickly proving itself as the place to be in early November.
Event director Carrie Yaxley says “Adventure racing, along with multi sport is one of the fastest growing adventure sports in New Zealand, and here on the coast we have the perfect mix of mountains and water to make an awesome race!”
The course will change annually and competitors will not know the route they are up against until the morning of the event.
Carrie comments “The support we have had from participants and the local community is amazing and we have some great prizes to give away.”
The emphasis of the day is on fun and competitors don’t need experience in adventure racing.
Entries are open until 21st October and entry gets you a great day out plus a Big Bang t-shirt and meal at the post race buffet supplied by Otaki Rotary.
