The largest gathering of mountain bike on one day in France, will take place in Arsac (Gironde) on Saturday, May 21. Sporting event unparalleled in the world, the Médocaine allows  at 6500 people disguised to discover, the landscapes of the prestigious wine appellations Margaux, Haut-Medoc, Moulis, Listrac and Bordeaux Supérieur, in a festive atmosphere. And the opportunity to taste the best wines of the South-Médoc.

Sportsmen, disguised and smiling! Such is the great majority of the participants at the VTT trek, "la Médocaine" ! The greatest annual mountain bike race around France’s southern Medoc welcome 7500 participants on the startline of the plain of sports of Arsac, a village in the Médoc.

The 18th edition of the greatest French mountain biking race welcome 6500 participants on the startline of the plain of sports of Arsac, a village in the Médoc. The Médocaine owes its success to its incredible route and to its festive atmosphere. The race traverses through its circuits from 25 to 80km, the appellations of Margaux, Haut-Medoc, Moulis, Bordeaux Listrac and especially more than 50 castles. 18 points of tastings all along the route allow to discover in moderation, some wines among the most famous to the world and this with 17 musical animations. The atmosphere of Médocaine is strongly linked to fancy dresses. Simple make-ups, bikes customized in longship, animals, cars either dresses, uniforms, the imagination of 6500 cyclists is without limit !

People from all over the world to discover Medoc on a bike
These amazing groups, make the salt of this event, henceforth known internationally. English people, Belgians, Germans but also Chineses of Hong-Kong are coming to discover the circuits of la Médocaine. They are long from 20, 25, 30, 35, 50, 60 and 80 kms for the bravest ! Departures are organized by 18 waves starting between 8am and 11am to better distribute the competitors on the paths, in the gardens, the vineyards and the castles. The AVTV, the organisation association has limited the registrations to 6500 to preserve the conviviality of the test. An once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to discover the Médoc and to savour its most delicious wines.

An entire territory invested
The Médoc, it is also the mobilization of an entire country: the CDC Médoc Estuary and the villages of Moulis and Listrac. The Population of 13 municipalities with 750 volunteers besides the owners of castles, cellar masters, or ordinary workers are involved in the success of this event which makes of the Médoc and of Arsac the major place of France cyclist on a day.
