adidas, the world’s leading sportswear company, launched the new home kit for the UAE national football team today. Together with the UAE Football Association (UAEFA), adidas has designed and created a kit that celebrates the country’s football heritage and successes. The outfit comprises the squad’s traditional red and white colours with distinctive three-stripes embedded into the sleeves and shorts.

HE Yousef Yaqoob Al Serkal President of UAEFA said: “We are delighted with the new kit – it symbolizes the pride of the UAE, not only the team who will be competing, but the entire nation that has football at its heart. The most important part of the jersey for us, after the colours of our country, is that adidas has the world’s leading technologies, which allow us to perform at our best, no matter where or who we play.”

National team midfielder and Al Ahli FC’s Habib Al Fardan, comments: “It’s a great feeling to be representing and giving back to the country that has supported us every step of the way. I know that every player in the squad takes enormous pride in pulling on the UAE national kit- a driver that has helped to challenge us and bring us closer as a group. And so, with the help of the new kit, along with the backing of our fans, we’re hoping that this can propel us to a successful qualification campaign, and a 2018 World Cup appearance.”

The new home jersey sees the team’s traditional red and white colours represented. The UAE FA’s crest takes pride of place on the jersey front. The jersey also features adidas’ signature climacool® technology, which provides ventilation, heat and moisture management.
