Challenge returns to Brazil for Challenge Florianopolis

After the inaugural success of CHALLENGEMACEIO, it is time for the athletes in Brazil to race the clock in the flat and fast course of the Florianopolis triathlon island.

The second edition of the CHALLENGEFLORIANOPOLIS will take place this weekend with a packed schedule of events that will involve the whole family, the island’s flat and fast course is enjoyed by thousands of athletes looking for their best results.
In addition to the triathlon half distance (1900m swim / 90km bike / 21km run) on Sunday, the event timetable includes also has the sprint distance (750m swim / 20km cycling / running 5km) on Saturday, which is new in Florianópolis , following its success at CHALLENGEMACEIO earlier this year. Also on Saturday, will be Challenge Women, an exclusive 5km race for women and the Junior Challenge a  mini triathlon for children aged between 7 and 12 years.

For 2015, the competition will be very tough for the PRO field as the start list is very strong and long with the top names of the national triathlon, including the defending champion of the race, Edivânio Monteiro and among women the 3rd place Beatriz Neres. The women's race also has the return of Susana Festner to the competitions, a great long distance athlete who is strong in the run, and also Great Britain’s Joanna Carritt.
