After 715 Kilometers of trekking, mountain bike, pack rafting, kayking and ropes, under conditions of extreme heat and sections with a lot of navigation, Team Seagate won the Adventure Racing World Championship Pantanal Pro 2015 in Brazil.

The New Zealand team of Nathan Fa'ave, Sophie Hart, Stuart Lynch and Chris Forne experienced extreme conditions during their seven day race  experiencing very hot days, with temperatures exceeding 40°C.

Only five teams managed to complete the full course with Swedish team Haglofs Silva, captained by New Zealander Aaron Prince finishing second.

The remaining teams were transported by plane, skipping the tough pack rafting section and a trekking stage.

Much wildlife had been reported on the course including a jaguar, armadillos, capybara and alligators.

Team Seagate faced their own challenges with Fa'ave experiencing an inflamed eye and Forne stung by a sting ray.

Fa'avae said they didn't relax until the team crossed the finish line.

"We came to win the race and we tried hard, confident that we could do it and now it is great to do the job and enjoy the feeling. We are so tired. We are so happy, but a lot of this is relief that we finally made it. We didn't know that we had a big lead."

"It is an amazing feeling to win."
