Silver State 508 ultracycling race starts Saturday

By AdventureCORPS

AdventureCORPS, Inc., an event production firm specializing in ultra-endurance sports events, will host the 32nd Anniversary of Silver State 508, on September 19-21 (Saturday-Monday), 2015. Founded by John Marino in 1983, recognized as "The Toughest 48 hours in Sport" and also known as simply "The 508," it is the world's premier 48-hour ultra cycling race. This 508-mile bicycle race is revered the world over for its epic mountain climbs, stark desert scenery, desolate roads, and its reputation as one of the toughest but most gratifying endurance challenges available, bar none. Solo, two-person relay, and four-person relay divisions are offered. The event is also an official Race Across America Qualifier.

The 2015 race roster features 111 racers from 18 American states, plus Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Israel, Mexico, Philippines, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

This 508-mile ultra cycling race starts in Reno, Nevada at the Atlantis Casino Resort in three waves at 430am, 630am, and 800am on Saturday, September 19. The racers cross the northern Nevada outback on Hwy 50, "the loneliest highway in America," reaching as far east as Eureka, NV before returning to the Atlantis Casino Resort after 508 miles of cycling with over 20,000 feet of cumulative elevation gain. The course closes at 630am on Monday, September 21.
