Pedal to the metal racing for Bahrain Endurance 13

By Bahrain Endurance 13

This weekend we saw pedal-to-the-metal racing from the Bahrain Endurance 13 Team in stunning destinations.

Joe Gambles found gold on Spain’s Costa Daurada with the inaugural Challenge Salou title, winning in 3 hours and 39 minutes on the half distance course. After exiting in the lead pack on the swim, Joe took the lead on the bike. With the fastest bike split and a strong run, he held off all other contenders in his first race since recovering from injury. “So happy to win today,” he says, thanking runner-up Ritchie Nicholls for making him dig deep. “It's been a tough month after an unplanned break.”

Brent McMahon had no time for sightseeing at Ironman Brazil. Brent stayed in the lead group all day, taking a turn at the front 100 kilometers into the bike and starting the marathon in second. He crossed the finish line with an empty tank with less than a minute separating him and a runner-up finish. The race in beautiful Florianopolis was fast and furiously contested, with the top four men all finishing under eight hours.
