Challenge Rimini prepares to welcome Europe's newest champions

By Challenge Family

CHALLENGERIMINI is ready to welcome a flood of triathletes from all over the world, heading to Italy to compete in the event that will crown the ETU European Half Distance European Champions.

More than 2,600 athletes from 25 countries will compete in what has become the leading half distance triathlon event in Italy.

As well as the European Championships, CHALLENGERIMINI continues its celebration of triathlon across a number of distances, ages and abilities, in keeping with CHALLENGEFAMILY’s philosophy of inclusion.

On the starting grid there will be:
    1600 athletes in the individual race in the Half Distance;
    250 relay athletes in the Half Distance;
    200 kids in the Junior Challenge event
    further 600 athletes in the Sprint Distance.

Race Director Alessandro Alessandri said, “We are proud of these numbers. Numbers which confirm the appreciation for our work at TD SGR Rimini. A work we have started three years ago with this event and many more years ago in the duathlon and triathlon world. The European Triathlon Union has chosen to assign the European title here in Rimini and this proves the quality and reliability of the organisation that we have built up in the previous two editions of the race.

"Rimini is ready, together with us, to be the scenario of an event that, even more this year, aspire to impress and to inspire athletes and spectators. We are doing our best to offer an unforgettable experience and to crown the European Champions 2015”.
