FRANCE
Paris Marathon – 12 April 2015

Todd Stevens from Wellington Scottish Club was 164th in 2:41:48.
The 45 year old New Zealand marathon champion in 2003 has been on a mission in recent years to race in the World’s top marathons. He has now run in the New York (2005 - 2:34 and 2011), London (2009), Boston (2010 - 2:40), Amsterdam (2012 - 2:37), Berlin (2013 - 2:39), Chicago (2014) and Paris marathons.
Stevens said that he needed new challenges by tackling the major overseas marathons to keep his motivation up.
“Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, I ran a lot of New Zealand marathons, but in recent years I’ve needed new challenges to keep the motivation up and these big city marathons are incredible events,” said Stevens.
He sees each one he competes in as a unique event.
“They each have a real point of difference, but some things are the same: usually 40,000 competitors, awesome courses, the best in the world on the start line, lots of crowd support and a chance to travel around the world,” he said.
