Merrell Tour de Wakatipu

By Queenstown Bike Festival

Tour de wakatipu

Easter Saturday 4th April

Autumn has arrived - the temperatures are dropping in the morning and evenings but thanks to an extended daylight savings period, we will maintain the evening light for a bit longer yet (It changes on the 5th April  The tour is the last competitive ride of the summer.

The event is now in it's 7th year and almost every year we have seen some change on the trails. As I look back through the newsletters I see photos of riding on the rough roads of the Shotover Delta, popular trees in the full colour of autumn and lots of smiling faces on the start line and sitting enjoying a glass of wine at Chard Farm.

Rob Hay (owner ) had this to say today. "We are really looking forward to the Tour de Wakatipu on the 4th. For us it's like having our own mini harvest thanksgiving festival as it's always held just as we start our grape harvest. This year will see the addition of Taco Medic (No1 rated Queenstown eatery on Tripadvisor!) and Gerdis gourmet sausages amongst the food stalls. Bring it on! "

Of course, everyone has noticed that we have a new sponsor - Merrell Footwear & Clothing.
I have worn Merrell shoes since Nevada Sport started bringing in Telemark leather boots (and that is a long time ago)  If you aren't wearing a pair now, head down to your local sports shop and try a pair on.

Here is a link to the history of a pair that I wore.

Check out the full range of products from Nevada Sport  and find a store near you.

In Queenstown simply pop down to  LETS GET OUTSIDE SHOP 11 THE MALL  to use the voucher for $20 Merell Money in the Queenstown Bike Festival brochure, or to any of the sports shops in town to find a great range of Merrell footwear & Clothing.

Entries are still open to the Merrell Tour De Wakatipu but they will close on the Friday prior to the event with only limited entries available on the day.

We are all looking forward to this event - which will bring the Queenstown Bike Festival to a close.
