USA rider Tayler Wiles takes Trust House women's tour of New Zealand title

By Jorge Sandoval

In front of a very large crowd, Lauren Hall from USA national team won the final stage, her second in the tour after a perfect lead out by her team into the middle of Masterton city centre on Sunday.

It was a great finale for a great tour and Team USA show why they are the best in the world, they won four of the five stages, lead the tour from start to finish and never seem to be in any danger of losing the yellow jersey and they took the first three places in the final overall results.

Tayler Wiles retained her lead and won the 2015 version of Oceania’s only women’s international cycle race.

"I am absolutely thrilled. Team USA rode strong like bulls, it was incredible," said Wiles, "I get to wear the jersey but Team USA were absolutely unbelievable. It's been a great race."

"It couldn't be any better. I'm happy with that, what a great place for a bike race, our team love Masterton and look forward to come back in 2016” Wiles told the crowd at the awards presentation.

In Sunday’s final stage other teams made it difficult for the USDA team, team Tibco – SVB as well as the Australian national team and DNA Cycling went on the attack right from the start, team USA control the race and make sure that no one was more than 30-40 seconds up the road at any time

They dictated the final 15kms of race and set a perfect lead put for Lauren Hall.

A fantastic end to a fantastic tour, most of the overseas riders are already talking to come back in 2016.
