The marathon du Médoc : a legendary race

Event and festive unique, the marathon of the Médoc will celebrate on Saturday, September 12th, 2015 its 31th anniversary. On this occasion, the organization concocted a new edition. So, the theme of disguise will be  "Tales and legend ". All the runners are invited to disguise. If the reputation of the "Médoc", known all over the world, is not to be any more made, the organization planned to make things " in big " for the edition with a lot of surprise.

These are the keywords to define the Médoc Marathon that really stands apart in its way of looking at sportive performance.

The Médoc Marathon is one of the world's longest marathon races, but the track is certainly one of the most beautiful, meandering through the most celebrated vineyards around the famous wine estates of Pauillac, St. Julien-Beychevelle and St. Estèphe.
 
Everybody wants to run the Médoc Marathon!
Since the year 2000, about 8000 runners are on the starting-line every year, and each time a large number of candidates cannot be admitted. More than 15.000 people wanted to participate in 2014 ! For the 32st edition, the marathon is open to 8.500 runners. And only for this edition !

Everybody in disguise!
It's a fancy dress marathon for fun: three days of partying, almost all of the runners in disguise, 53 music groups for entertainment, 25 gastronomic stops and much more.

The sense of togetherness and enjoyment is so strong that this marathon should be considered the one you should have run at least once in your life! There are many who get registered at least one year in advance!

The Médoc Marathon is also unequalled considering the quality of medical support. A professional congress on sports medicine and a public workshop with practical medical advice concerning the practice of sports opens the event. Medical assistance is one of the strong points with 10 surgery and care points, 5 specially equipped surgery tents at the arrival and the help of 300 qualified persons. But first of all, the Médoc Marathon stands for a rather uncommon idea about the running-craze: "Wine, sports, fun and health!"

The marathon of the Médoc will be visible live on a chain(channel) privatized by Dailymotion from 9 am in the morning. To the program, the departure, the passages in castle, the arrival but also reports, interview of the runners. For 2016, the marathon increased its device with an immediate French/English translation which will allow the whole world to attend the marathon race.
